The Grundfos BMET
The Grundfos BMET booster module consists of a BME and a BMT pump connected in series.
Both pumps have a Grundfos multistage submersible pump integrated into the stainless steel sleeve.
The BME pump is powered by a standard electric motor via a V-belt pulley. The roller bearing of the pulley has a lubrication and oil cooling system.
The BMT pump is powered by a Pelton turbine and is connected in series with the first pump.
BMET Booster Module
BMET booster module is designed for reverse osmosis systems where the energy from the high pressure is recovered by the turbine.
In this way, up to 34% energy savings are achieved when compared to conventional systems.
The BME pump seal is made of carbon/silicon carbide and is ideal for high pressure applications.
A water-lubricated thrust bearing is integrated in both pumps to absorb the axial thrust from the pump.
The rubber bearings in the pumps are lubricated with water, and the roller bearings in the motor are lubricated with grease.
