The Grundfos BMEX

The Grundfos BMEX water purification system is used to desalinate seawater or brackish water.
Since the systems are designed in accordance with the desalination process, all wetted parts are resistant to sea water. All pump materials that come into contact with seawater are manufactured from 904L or duplex stainless steel.
In addition, the materials of the pressure exchanger that come into contact with water are also made of duplex stainless steel and ceramic.


The BMEX booster system consists of:

  • BME high pressure feed pump
  • One or more pressure exchangers
  • BM high pressure circulation made of high quality stainless steel pump
  • Variable Frequency Drive

Note: Chassis and manifold supply for pressure exchangers is optional.
The BMEX booster system is designed based on the hydraulic structure of Grundfos SP_R submersible pumps and the Energy Recovery Device.
Hydrophore system;
It is used for desalination of sea water (SWRO - Seawater Reverse Osmosis) in reverse osmosis systems.
